Current

The story of a man’s adventures in the real and imaginary worlds of London and Bath. At the beginning of the novel we meet him as he embarks on one of his ‘November’ affairs which with the agreement of his wife Marie, must always finish twelve days before Christmas. He is house-husband to Marie who has over the years successfully built up a small to middling business called ‘Bistro Dogs’. One day, the husband hears some news about his hated ex wife and their daughter Alyssa and vows to find and meet his daughter again after never having seen or wanted to see her since she was a baby. Then his wife drops a bombshell about her ostensibly successful business…

Early one morning, a man called Charlie from Marie’s office rings his wife’s mobile and half-asleep he pretends to be his wife (he’s a good mimic) and learns that she is probably having an affair with this work colleague called Charlie… he arranges to meet Charlie at a restaurant in Dean Street…. Poor Charlie thinks that he has genuinely been speaking to Marie and agrees to the ‘date’…
